Gladiators Fighting Series
Sells Out Milwaukee

IKF & ISCF Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA: On a night which featured the return of one legend and a Hall-of-Fame induction of another, the rapidly growing Gladiators Fighting Kickboxing & MMA Series was back in the Milwaukee Ramada Convention Center's Grand Ballroom Friday night, October 21st, with it's biggest show to date, "Colosseum Returns."

In front of a raucous, standing room only crowd, fight fans witnessed seventeen exciting, wild bouts featuring both Kickboxing and mixed martial arts. As has become expected, promoters Duke Roufus and Scott Joffe put together a first rate event that not only started on time, but delivered on what was an action packed and very entertaining fight card.


Preliminary Bouts
The "Awesome Amateurs" undercard featured several kickboxers with a promising future including hometown, Duke Roufus trained fighters Benni "The Albanian Jet" Izairi and Milwaukee's own Kyle Monreal, who was also a major sponsor of the show, and Team Function's Andy Normington of Madison, Wisconsin.

  • In one of the most entertaining preliminary bouts Justin Abate, of Pekin Illinois was able to out strike Chris Trautsch of Prairie Du Chien, Wisconsin and earned a well deserved TKO victory in the late stages of the second round.
  • In the featured preliminary fight, Rachid Maakoul of Rockford, Illinois put on a very impressive display of hand speed as he jabbed and hooked his way to a unanimous decision victory over Lansing, Michigan's Henry Ebron.
  • Main Card Bouts
    1. IKF KICKBOXING
      With twelve fights still to come and the crowd now in full fight mode, it was time to bring on the big boys as Canada's Damian "The Demon" Smektala (7-0) squared off with Roufus protégé Kyle "Wicked" Weickhardt who came in sporting his own impressive 5-1 record. Both fighters laid it on the line for the sold out crowd in an evenly contested match up.
      The Demon fired first with a series of low kicks which backed up Weickhardt early and set the tone for the rest of the fight. Weickhardt had his best round in the third and staggered Smektala with a series of punches and kicks late, but it wasn't enough as Smektala earned a unanimous decision and kept intact his undefeated record.

    2. ISCF MMA
      This card featured four fighters from the Buckeye state including Thomas Russell (right) of the Peak Submission Fight Team who lead the charge in one of the night's most exciting MMA fights.
      Russell, who had made his MMA debut just one week prior, took on Milwaukee's Ray Koeper and looked for his second win in two weeks.
      With an impressive display of power and speed the nineteen year old Russell opened the fight with a "Matt Hughes" like body slam that brought the crowd to its feet and sent an early message to his opponent at the same time.
      From that point on it was all Russell as he put Koeper away via strikes at under two minutes of the opening round. Russell, now 2-0, is a middleweight to watch for on future Gladiators' events.

    3. IKF KICKBOXING
      Next was a Kickboxing match-up of exciting lightweights featuring Nathan Smith (Winner at Right, Modesto, CA) of the world renowned Team Voodoo lead by Gene Fields who took on Michigan's Ben "Stoneman" Yelle as both fighters came in with identical 12-2 records.
      In what many thought was the kickboxing fight of the night, Smith was able to score with various combinations, all set up by devastating low kicks which kept Yelle off balance for most of the fight.
      Yelle, however, would not go quietly and showed off an impressive offensive arsenal of his own that included several quick high kicks that just narrowly missed their target.
      Both warriors would pick their shots in a fight that saw everything from spinning backfists to five punch combinations, never for a second lacking in action.
      However, shortly after the bell rang to end round three, it was Smith (above with Team Voodoo and Referee Al Wichgers) who came away with the unanimous decision victory and improved to 13-2.

    4. ISCF MMA
      Bantamweight MMA fighter Dan "The Savage" Lasavage wasted little time taking care of Stacy Lavaque in a cross state rivalry.
      After a brief exchange, Lasavage (right) was able to get the back of Lavaque and finish the fight via rear naked choke in round number one.

    5. ISCF MMA
      Caleb Krull put his undefeated MMA record (5-0) on the line against Peak Submission's Chris Lee who looked to announce his presence in the welterweight division.
      Things started off in favor of Krull as an early take down led to several submission attempts, including an armbar and triangle from his guard.
      However, the younger and more aggressive Lee would not take the bait and went on the attack, landing a barrage of strikes leaving ace referee Al Wichgers with no choice, but to stop the fight giving Lee the exciting TKO victory.

    6. IKF KICKBOXING
      In what was the night's most interesting bout, Gladiators Fighting Series Kickboxing veterans Bryce "Bam Bam" Frank of Rockford, Illinois, would take on Harold "The Hammer" Johnson of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
      It is still unclear what Johnson was looking for as this match began, but it certainly was not a clean fight. After several warnings and fouls which ranged from low blows, to holding, to tackling after a break, Johnson was disqualified and a frustrated Frank awarded the victory in a manner he surly didn't want.

    7. ISCF MMA
      In the fastest fight of the evening, Racine Catch Teams' Ed Nelson (left) scored a one punch knockout at just fourteen seconds over fellow MMA Light Heavyweight fighter Reese Shaner of Waukesha, Wisconsin.

    8. IKF KICKBOXING
      The next bout featured the return of "Milwaukee's Kickboxing Ironman" Horace "The Real Deal" Craft as he took on Chuck Jewel in a Super Heavyweight bout.
      Jewell held his own against the more experienced Craft in the early stages, but was unable to stop a right hook which ended things in the second round giving the "Ironman" a thrilling win in front of a large legion of fans.

    9. ISCF MMA
      Known for his sharp ground game, Welterweight BJJ champion and Milwaukee native Jon Friedland took on the tough and aggressive Hammer House fighter Tommy "Gun" Ridenbaugh from Newark, Ohio.
      Ridenbaugh would push the pace early and tried to keep things standing, but Friedland saw an opening and took the fight to the ground where he would be able to work his magic.
      Ridenbaugh survived several early submission attempts by Friedland, but was unable to escape a rear naked choke late in round one.
      Friedland improved to 7-1 with the win and is another Milwaukee fighter that could make some noise in the division.

    10. IKF KICKBOXING
      New Orleans native Pat "Get Hype" Barry lived up to his nickname as he took care of fellow K-1 veteran and Team Voodoo fighter Dustin "The Mechanic" Hanning (sporting a brightly colored head of bright magenta and blue hair) of Los Angeles, CA.
      Barry put on an impressive performance utilizing all of the tools which have now made him a name to watch in the ranks of K-1.
      The smaller, but quicker Barry used both his hand speed and quick feet (landing the high kick at right) to neutralize any reach advantage Hanning might have had.
      With thunderous, axe like low kicks peppering Hanning's legs (left) spot on each time, Barry put his colorful opponent away late in round one and improved to 13-1 overall.
      After the fight, Barry addressed the appreciative crowd and thanked the fans of Milwaukee and New Orleans for their support. It should be noted that Barry recently relocated to Wisconsin after the Hurricane Katrina tragedy and is now training full time under Duke Roufus in Milwaukee.

    11. ISCF MMA
      In one of the night's co-main events, UFC Middleweight veteran Adrian Serrano made his long awaited return to the ring after fighting to recover from a life threatening illness which left him wondering if he would ever compete professionally again.
      But get in the ring he did and Serrano pounded out a win over the very game Brandon Lee who suffered his first career loss.
      Serrano fought off an early surge by Lee (right) while controlling the fight on the ground, showing why he is a MMA champion and longtime Milwaukee favorite.
      Lee found himself on his back for most of the fight and was unable to get hold of Serrano's solid forearms, which eventually prompted referee Al Wichgers to stop the fight and award Serrano a round two TKO victory.
      With over 100 career fights to his credit Serrano told fans in an emotional post fight speech that this was the biggest fight of his career considering everything it took for him to get to this point. Congratulations to Adrian Serrano…a true legend of the sport!




















Prior to the main event, Gladiators Fighting Series co-promoter and 4-time Kickboxing World Champion Duke Roufus was quite humbled and surprised when he was presented (Right) with one of the sport's most prestigious honors as it was announced by former Kickboxer and Gladiators official Keith Cory that he was being officially inducted into Black Belt Magazine's Hall-of-Fame. A well deserved honor for one of the sport's true champions and ambassadors.

MMA stars Nick Agallar and Stephan "The American Psycho" Bonnar, star of SpikeTV's hit reality show "The Ultimate Fighter - Season One" were also introduced to the crowd.

12. IKF KICKBOXING
Ben "The Berzerker" Rothwell, fresh of his impressive victory headlining the Gladiators September 17th "Fight Nite in the Flats" Cleveland show, would clash with Team Voodoo's mountain of man, 6' 8", 266 lbs. Justice Smith in the main event.
Larger didn't mean better though as it would not be Smith's night in the brew city.
Smith could never really get things going against the more experienced Rothwell and was penalized several times for low blows.
After the fourth foul, and against Rothwell's (right) impassioned pleas to let the bout continue, referee Wichgers was left with no choice, but to stop the fight in the first round and disqualify Smith.

While not the crash, bang, boom finish everyone was looking for, "Colosseum Returns" as a whole produced one fantastically exciting night of Kickboxing and MMA brawls. As all fans seemed to agree, seventeen bouts over five non-stop hours of action produced another impressive Gladiators Fighting Series show that delivered once again.

Fight fans can expect more fireworks in early 2006 as the Gladiators Fighting Series features two huge shows in February with a return to Cleveland for a night of pro MMA action on a date yet to be announced and then back to Milwaukee for a special Ten Year Anniversary show entitled "X - A Decade In The Making" February 24th at the Ramada Convention Center.

"King of the Gladiators - One" Tournament Champion Giuseppe "The Godfather" DeNatale, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada and "K.O.T.G. - Two" Champion "Lightning" Mike Sheppard, Palestine, West Virginia, have agreed to meet in the show's highly anticipated Heavyweight "border war" main event.

The Main Event is a rematch. These two fought last June at ISCF Summer Heat in Valdosta, Georgia. Jonathan "Lock N Load" Wiezorek is the current ISCF Pro United States Heavyweight Champion. He won his title on April 12th, 2002 in Atlanta, Georgia, USA when he defeated John Dixon at At 2:36 of the second round by tapout. The current "Heavyweight" Title was previously the "SUPER" Heavyweight title under the original ISCF Weightclasses before the cut off for Heavyweight was changed to 265. Wiezorek hasn't fought since the Smith match-up.

Jerome Smith's last fight before the Wiezorek match-up was in April of this year, a draw to James Thorpe at the ISCF Friday Night Fights event. Some questioned the stop of the Smith - Wiezorek fight saying it was too soon or not justified. However, video shows the stop was made due to good reason. Still, this fight will be a great opportunity for either Wiezorek to prove there was no bad call or for Smith to show the crowd he was for real! Either way, fans will see some good Heavyweight Action!

This Friday night, October 21st, Milwaukee will become "Gladiator Town" as Duke Roufus and Scott Joffe's Ad Cetera Sports Productions will host another exciting night of

Pro and Amateur IKF Kickboxing and ISCF MMA. The event will be at the Ramada Grand Ballroom, 6401 S. 13th St, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA. Event doors will open at 6:PM and the fight action will begin at 8:PM.

While Kickboxing has always been the main course of the Gladiators Fighting Series, Mixed Martial Arts ("MMA") has proven itself to be a great accompaniment as evidenced by the positive fan reaction to the dual style format. MMA will be featured prominently on this Friday's fight card. Fifteen total bouts are currently scheduled for this standout card and tickets are going fast. Heeding the advice of her doctor, MMA Gladiator Greta "Mo Betta" Hicks had no choice but to pull out of her highly anticipated "revenge match" with fellow MMA Gladiator Jen "The Genetic Wonder" Case scheduled for tomorrow night. After being diagnosed with a pinched nerve in her neck, the popular female mixed martial artist decided it was best to rematch Case, whom Hicks lost to in June of this year, on the Gladiators Fighting Series 10th Anniversary show scheduled for Friday, February 24th in Milwaukee. Hicks is unsure when her physician will give her clearance to begin training again, buts anticipates she will have ample time to prepare for her February rematch with Case.

Knuckle Up productions put on a great MMA/Muay Thai card in Atlanta for a packed house of more than 2,200 screaming fans. With some last minute fight card adjustments the night was set for some great Mixed Martial Arts and Muay Thai action.


  1. IKF MUAY THAI
    The night started off with Amateur Muay Thai featuring Janna Fritz vs Tonja Ivanovich. Though both girls were very game, Janna came out on top and took the victory home with a TKO stoppage in the 3rd round.

  2. ISCF MMA
    Steve Mitchell     squared of against Jim Kassner and Kassner proved to be too much on his feet scoring a second round referee stoppage from strikes. Mitchell had several deep heels hooks in but couldn't finish Kassner.

  3. ISCF MMA
    Joel Negron     went toe to toe with Cal Yarborough which was an even fight until late in the first round with Joel receiving a cut over his left eye but was able to continue. Soon after the timeout for the cut Cal exploded with some vicious blows finally earning a corner stoppage and taking home the TKO win over Negron.

  4. ISCF MMA
    David Brown     looked to take Joe "Agent" Smith down to the ground and employ his ground game but ran into a good grappler in Smith and the ground war ended with Brown being stopped from un answered blows on the bottom.

  5. ISCF MMA
    Douglas "The Baby Boy" Lima     completely demolished an experienced Mike Cogan in dramatic fashion. Lima every bit of 17 years old squared off against Cogan in what was expected to be an even match up of skill. Douglas took the upper hand throwing a ton of leather and eventually winning the fight with Cogan tapping on the cage from a vicious assault of knees and hands from Lima. Definatley look for this kid to be destroying the competition on some future Knuckle Up shows.

  6. IKF KICKBOXING
    Anthony Nieves     barley broke a sweat against Shaun Gay, cracking him early with some solid shots as Gay was unable to continue a minute into the first round due to a leg injury sustained from exchanging kicks.

  7. ISCF MMA
    Diego Saraiva     and Virgil Strzelecki went at it early trading leather and eventually ending up on the ground were the black belt (Saraiva) imposed his superior submission skills on Virgil via triangle from the bottom mid way thought he first round.

  8. ISCF MMA
    Ran Weathers     ran into a tough opponent as the undefeated armature made his pro debut against a seasoned wrestler in Ryan Williams. Williams scored the early takedown and began the ground and pound tactics while fending off Weathers' constant triangle and arm bar attempts. Williams' grappling ability and intensity proved too much for Weathers' as he tapped from strikes in the second round.

  9. IKF PRO MUAY THAI
    Reuben Lopez     vs Randy Pogue was probably the fight of the night. Both men entered the cage hungry and squared of for 5 action packed rounds with Lopez walking away the aggressor. Both men gave and took some serious shots as the rounds progressed. It was a pleasure to see two pros in great condition push each others level of intensity the entire fight.

  10. IKF PRO MUAY THAI
    Philip Botha     made quick work of his last minute replacement Bobby Gamboa with a medical stoppage from a broken foot during a fierce exchange of leg kicks and knees. Congratulations to Philip and we look forward to his next fight on the next card.

  11. ISCF GRAPPLING
    Steve Headden     also made quick work of his opponent tapping him in a short amount of time in a grappling only bout.

Forrest Griffin of Athens Georgia (Overall Pro & Am: 17-4, 205, The Hard Core Gym, Adam Singer) and the winner of the Spike TV reality television show The Ultimate Fighter, returns to national television tonight as he's scheduled to fight Elvis Sinosic (Sydney, Australia, 6-7-2, www.elvissinosic.com) in UFC 55, live at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut, USA. Sinosic has won many titles such as the Australian Vale Tudo Heavyweight Title and AFBJJ Australian and Pan Pacific Heavyweight Titles just to name a few. He has fought in many organizations across the world which include The UFC, Universal Combat Challenge, RINGS, Australian Vale Tudo Open, Caged Combat and K-1.

As a two-time Welterweight Champion of the World, Griffin took two years off before returning months ago with a win over Stephan Bonnar (Hammond, Illinois, 7-2) by unanimous decision at UFC-Ultimate Fighter Finale this past April. After that win he defeated Bill Mahood (Prince George, British Colombia, Canada, 12-4-1) by a rear choke submission at UFC 53-Heavy Hitters this past June. With a win tonight he improves his chances for a potential Light Heavyweight title shot. Currently ranked number 6 in the World in the ISCF Light Heavyweight rankings, he has some strong competition ahead of him which include Chuck Liddell, Randy Couture, Tito Ortiz, Quinton Jackson and Vitor Belfort. However, due to UFC Contracts, some of these fighters may never fight outside the UFC, which puts Griffin in the drivers seat for a possible shot at an ISCF World Title in his future.

The UFC will begin at 10:PM tonight and will be shown live at the Cheetah in Atlanta, Georgia, the Atlanta headquarters for all boxing and UFC events in Atlanta. The nights Main Event will feature who the UFC is calling their Heavyweight Champion Andrei Arlovski (Minsk, Belarus, 8-3) against who they say is their number 1 contender, Paul "The Headhunter" Buentello (San Jose, California, 19-8). Arlovski is ranked number 21 and Buentello is ranked number 19 in the ISCF Pro World Rankings.

Here's a small connection in two of tonights fighters... In Buentello's last bout in June he defeated a fighter named Kevin Jordan by guillotine choke submission. Back in 2001 Jordan lost to Forrest Griffin by an arm bar submission as an amateur on ISCF Promoter Matthew Waller's Gauntlet Trials event.

In two weeks, on Friday, October 21st, Atlanta resident and Pro Welterweight Boxer Vernon Forrest (36-2/27) continues his comeback as he takes on Elco Garcia (18-3/8, Durango, Colorado) in the main event of FOX Sports, Best Damn Sports Show Period. Back in 2002 Forrest beat Shane Mosley in back to back bouts by unanimous decision for the WBC Welterweight Title. He later lost his title to Ricardo Mayorga and was again unsuccessful in a rematch with him 7 months later. Forrest is coming off a TKO win over Sergio Rios at the MGM Grand in, Las Vegas this past July.

On Friday, September 30th, ISCF Mixed Martial Arts returned to the DeKalb Atlanta Centre, in Atlanta, Georgia. The inaugural Fists Of Fury event, promoted by J.J. & Carole Coronel of Casca Grossa ( www.casca-grossa.com) fame, featured six amateur MMA bouts culminating in the Fight of the Night in which Larry Landry defeated Jerrell Bowman.


  1. ISCF MMA
    John Trent (Velocity) vs Brian Herring (Gorilla Nation)
    Trent shoots for the double leg and takes Herring down. Herring sinks in the guillotine and attempts to pull guard. Trent works his head out and stands up, where he gets a guillotine and forces Herring to tap.
    Winner: Trent at 1:33 of Round 1 by Tap Out from Guillotine Choke.

  2. ISCF MMA
    Jose Soto (Velocity) vs. Justin Granit (McCullough's Submission)
    Soto gets the big takedown into the mount. Granit works his way out and back to stand up. Soto gets a big slam takedown and forces his way to Granit's back and works in a rear naked choke.
    Winner: Soto at 1:21 of Round 1 due to Tap Out by Rear Naked Choke.

  3. ISCF MMA
    John Gonzales (United/Velocity) vs. Jeremy Stephens (Universal Martial Arts)
    Stephens closes the distance and lands a solid right. He then shoots and takes him down where Gonzalez pulls guard. Gonzalez attempts numerous submissions (armbar, guillotine) which Stephens easily defends, Stephens lands punches from the top and then stands up. Stephens lands a solid knee and comes down into side body and the round ends.
    Winner: Stephens at 4:00 of Round 1. Gonzales was unable to answer the bell for Round 2.

  4. ISCF MMA
    E.J. Miller (McCullough's) vs. Carlton Spaulding (Eagle/Velocity)
    The fighters immediately exchanged punches which result in blood from Miller's nose and from Spaulding's eye. They clinch and fall to the ground where Miller attempts a guillotine. Spaulding escapes to the mount and begins punching.
    Winner: Spaulding at 2:08 of Round 1 by Referee Stoppage due to Strikes.

  5. ISCF MMA
    Stephen Ledbetter (Hardcore) vs. Travis Bland (Team Renegade)
    Ledbetter shoots the double leg taking Bland down. Bland sins the guillotine and pulls guard. Ledbetter works his head out and scoots up to full mount. He rains down punches and gets Bland's back. Bland defends the choke and Ledbetter punches more getting him to expose the neck and sinks in the choke.
    Winner: Ledbetter at 1:51 Round 1 by Tap Out due to Rear Naked Choke.

  6. ISCF MMA
    Larry Landry (Velocity) vs. Jerrell Bowman (Trammell's)
    Easily the Fight of the Night, the round began with the fighters circling one another. Bowman threw a solid leg kick and Landry answered with a jab and cross. Bowman then threw a solid knee. Landry shot in and lifted Bowman high for a slam. Bowman got away and Landry shot in and slammed him again. Landry hits him a few more times and Bowman wiggles out. Landry then picks him up and throws him across the ring. Bowman gets up and lands a glancing kick to the head and a hard kick to the side. Landry takes him down again and punches to the side as the bell rings.
    Round two begins with Bowman grabbing Landry's head for the plum. As Landry pulls away Bowman lands a solid kick to the side of Landry's head knocking him down. Dazed, Landry somehow manages to pull guard and clinch. He then manages to scoot away and get on top to half-guard. Bowman hugs tight, but Landry slides into the mount. Bleeding, Landry starts punching down.
    Winner: Landry 3:05 of Round 2 by Referee Stoppage due to Strikes.

This rugged style of competition (MMA) has captured the attention of the masses and the guys at Velocity know first hand what all the hype is about. REHAB, Cages and Butt-Kicking...OH MY!
Danny Boone Alexander (vocals), Mike Hartnett (guitar), FOZ (guitar), Hano Leathers (bass) and Chris Hood (drums). REHAB has been reborn and they're back with a vengeance! The Atlanta-based quintet breaks new ground and addresses new challenges on its latest album, Graffiti the World. The collection is the work of combined contributions from each individual member of the band. "It's five people getting together and trying to do the music that they want to hear," says front man Danny Alexander. "Everybody contributed. You always have a vision of what you want to do and it never really comes out the way you plan, but the end result is really good. You're just constantly trying to put out what you feel. The final result of their combined efforts evokes a more positive and inspired feeling to the record."

For REHAB, Graffiti the World is the band's bid to cover the world with special sounds, seeking the dark and light within, asking questions and perhaps, sometimes, finding the right answers. Danny admits that he can't do that alone. Along with the help of A- list producers/mixers Billy Hume, whose credits include the Ying Yang Twins, David Banner, and Bonecrusher, and Phil Tan who has worked alongside the Neptunes, Snoop, and Mariah Carey.

Currently recording and touring, Danny speaks about his new songs Last Tattoo and Bump. He states, "My lyrics are becoming more and more conscious and meaningful from my past work. Last Tattoo confronts the temporary nature of relationships. Bump is a story of a beautiful evening in Warner Robbins, Georgia (Boons home town), driving around listening to music and having a great time...I have learned to tell better stories in my songs, they're all my own personal stories and experiences but I know others can relate to them. "

Jesse Finney (Shamrock Promotions) partnered with Ben Nogeueras (The Blue Corner) to bring another outstanding Midwest Fight Fest to Kansas City. This fine partnership between the Fight Pride of St Louis, Finney's Champions, (rated under the IKF, PKL, ISDF and KICK organization) and Nogeueras' Blue Corner, Kansas City Professional Boxing Organization' perfect venue, showcased some outstanding fight talent together!

The event was held at the classy Clarion Hotel Ballroom in Kansas City. The crowd certainly got what they paid for ~ an evening full of action and excitement as the Midwest's premier fighters took the ring by storm.

These promoters had a variety of fighters on their card ~ talented, eager MMA fighters, peppered between with Kickboxers (both Full Contact and Muay Thai Rules) ready to rumble! The evening went fast and furious, with results as follows. We're sure to see more of these fighters in the future!


  1. ISCF MMA Light Middleweight
    Mike Hammer (Self-trained, Knobnoster, MO) vs Jimmy "JR" Haynes (Brad Jones Garage, Overland Park, KS)
    Mike Hammer started fast in an attempt to take down Jimmy Haynes. Jimmy quickly countered with an effective sprawl, keeping Mike from executing. Jimmy then swiftly moved to the dominant position and proceeded to "ground and pound" forcing ISCF Referee Kevin Engle to stop the match at :52 seconds of the 1st round!

  2. ISCF MMA
    Jeff Marzolf (Krav Maga, Overland Park, KS) vs Chris Barrows (Dan Tharp, Kansas City, MO)
    Both fighters quickly went to the mat ~ with Barrows attempting what appeared to be a missed ankle lock. Within seconds, Barrows somehow rolled over Marzolf's ankle, causing an immediate dislocation. The ankle looked extremely out-of-place, and extremely painful! However, Marzolf was a true warrior, handling the injury with grace! He left the ring on a gurney, but the crowd cheered him on their feet!

  3. ISCF MMA Middleweight
    Parker Southworth (Dan Tharp's Gym, Kansas City, MO) vs Alex Carter (Self-trained, Chicago, IL)
    This bout was a barn burner. Both contestants came out throwing haymakers! Alex quickly settled down and got busy ~ landing repeated rights and lefts on Southworth's head! They went to the mat, and Carter gained the rear position, moving in for a rear naked choke, causing Southworth to quickly tap out!

  4. ISCF MMA Middleweight
    Todd Brown (Brad Jones Garage, Overland Park, KS) vs LC Davis (Dan Tharp's Gym, Kansas City, MO)
    This bout was a crowd pleaser. As Davis entered the ring, the crowd went wild with chants of "LC, LC". The fighters gave the crowd exactly what they wanted ~ three full rounds of action! In round one, Brown attempted to get Davis into a Figure Four, but Davis slipped past the leg lock. Davis then took the side guard position, and the action stalled. The referee stood the fighters up and the match continued. Davis landed a strong leg kick, followed by a quick right hand at the end of the round, clearly dominating this round. The fighters emerged for round two quick and ready. First blood was drawn ~ Davis again landing a right hand. The fighters returned to the mat, with Brown attempting an arm lock, with no success. Round two ended with Davis having an edge. The crowd roared for the start of round three. The fighters came out swinging. Quickly going to the mat, it was a battle of strengths, landing both fighters over the edge of the apron. The deft referee quickly stepped in and stood the fighters up to complete the round. Both fighters finished strong, with Brown fighting smart, but Davis still held his edge. All three judges scored it 30-27 for Davis. The crowd got their money's worth with this bout!

  5. IKF FCR Kickboxing - Light Middleweight
    Melvin Hartley (Bud Johnson, Trainer, Kansas City, MO) vs Josh Fisher (Finney's Kickboxing, St. Louis, MO)
    These fighters had no problem getting their required kicks in every round. That left the focus on their boxing skills combined with their kicks. Fisher started round one landing several good straight lefts, causing Hartley to become tentative. Hartley then came back with a few straight rights of his own, followed by back leg round kicks; however, these were not enough to answer Fisher's speed. Fisher clearly dominated this round. Round two saw the fighters come out ready to brawl. Hartley landed some rights to the body early in this round, but again, Fisher's straight left hand along with an effective back leg round kick dominated. Hartley knew stepping into Round three he had to work to win this fight. Fisher threw a dynamic round kick to Hartley's face, causing Hartley to appear as though he was out of gas...but, just as the crowd thought Hartley was done, he pulled a right jump front kick out, landing it squarely on Fisher's body, causing Fisher to step back. Realizing what he had done, Hartley ran forward with a quick right hand to Fisher's face. Fisher came back with a series of flurries of his own. Although Hartley showed heart, Fisher dominated the fight overall, with all judges scoring all three rounds 30-27, in Fisher's favor. These young men (still teenagers) have a bright future in kickboxing!

  6. ISCF MMA
    Tyler Hood (Brad Jones Garage, Overland Park, KS) vs Josh Johnston (KC North Cisco Guerra)
    This fight started with both fighters landing wicked knees from a stand up position. Johnson quickly gained an advantage as both fighters went to the mat. Johnson gained position from a top mount, consistently pounding on Hood until the round ended. Round two started much the same way, with Johnson demonstrating superior control throughout the round. Hood went back to his corner with both eyes swollen shut. The referee stopped the bout at the end of the 2nd round.

  7. IKF FCR Kickboxing
    Cade Woodall (Kansas City, MO) vs Frank Bryant
    Both fighters came out fast, with Bryant landing a smart, crisp left-right combination, confusing Woodall. Bryant continued this barrage with front leg kicks, double punch combinations, forcing the referee to give Woodall a standing 8-count. Woodall attempted to answer back, but was clearly outgunned by the stronger, larger Bryant. As with all the fighters, these gentlemen are champions just to be in the ring!

  8. ISCF MMA - Light Heavyweight
    Dean Kugler (Brad Jones Garage, Overland Park KS ) vs Kenny Allen (Chicago )
    These fighters were ready to rumble. Allen came out with a flurry of strong punches ~ and Dean answered back with a couple of quick leg kicks. The crowd loved this action. The fighters went to the mat with Kugler attempting an arm bar, but Allen was too cagey to capture. As Allen attempted to get up off the mat, Kugler threw a powerful ax kick from the floor to Allen's face, connecting with a hard slam! Allen was forced to step back, injuring his knee in the process, causing him to tap out! Awesome fight action!

  9. IKF MTR Heavyweight Kickboxing
    Eric Siley (Krav Maga, OPKS) vs Darryl Harris (Chicago)
    Siley took command of this bout with a flurry of punches. Half way through the round, Siley's strikes were beginning to take effect, causing Harris to take a knee. After receiving an 8-count, the bout continued much on the same path - with Siley in command! Within seconds, Siley pulled out another series of punches causing the referee to stop the bout 1:28 in the first round!

  10. ISCF MMA - MAIN EVENT
    John Cornett (Brad Jones Garage Overland Park, KS ) vs Joe Marayo ( Chicago)
    The main event was worth waiting for ~ but, if you blinked, you could have missed the action! MMA fights are known for their quick upsets due to the technical nature of the fight! Brett Moses (Right) Full Throttle IV played to over 3,000 spectators - a packed house at any other venue, but simply another good crowd at the WILD BILL'S venue. The faithful were not disappointed as the 15 action-packed bouts played out. Celebrity guests included Yves Edwards, Renzo Gracie, guest referee Forrest Griffin and this year's Ultimate Fighter contestant Jorge Gurgel. Bout of the night went to the Luigi Fioravanti vs Tim Stout war! Fioravanti went on to win the decision, but both fighters gave and received plenty. Here are the nights results below.


  1. ISCF AMATEUR MMA
    DYMOND JONES Defeated MARK SERKEZ by SPLIT DECISION at 12:00 Round 3.
    It was the debut for each of these light heavyweight fighters. Both were well-trained and thus they were evenly matched.

  2. ISCF AMATEUR MMA
    RAN WEATHERS Defeated CHASE KNIGHT by TAP OUT by ARMBAR at 0:26 Round 1.
    Weathers was quick to secure the armbar submission, avenging an earlier loss.

  3. ISCF PRO MMA
    MARK LONGWORTH Defeated CORY NESTLEHUTT by TAP OUT by STRIKES at 4:32 Round 1.
    Nestlehutt appeared to have the upper hand from the get go, forcing Longworth to the ground and mounting; however, Longworth was able to defend, weather the storm and ultimately reverse and land strikes to force the tap out.

  4. ISCF PRO MMA
    JUAN GUEVARA Defeated TERRANCE JONES by TAP OUT - REAR NAKED CHOKE at 1:01 Round 1.
    Guevara was sharp in his pro debut closing the distance for the clinch, taking Jones to the ground, mounting and then getting the back for the RNC tap out.

    JOE MERRITT Defeated JOHN TARRH by TAP OUT at 1:14 Round 1.
    Tarrh seemed in control early on securing the take down and getting mount. Merritt swept him and Tarrh all of a sudden cried out in pain and immediately tapped out. The ring physician confirmed that he had somehow separated his shoulder.

    JAMEY TONEY Defeated MAT SANTOS by CORNER STOPPAGE - TOWEL THROWN IN at 1:31 Round 1.
    In the first of two victories by Team Jorge Gurgel fighters, Toney looked sharp, mounting and raining down blows, forcing Santos' corner to throw in the towel.

  7. ISCF PRO MMA
    DIEGO SARAIEVA Defeated BRANDON BLEDSOE by TAP OUT at 0:52 Round 1.
    Hats off to Bledsoe for accepting a fight against a BJJ Black belt on two days notice. While he started off strong, Saraieva was too slick, securing the armbar.

  8. ISCF PRO MMA
    SCOTT HARPER Defeated KEVIN BROOKS by REF STOPPAGE at 0:37 Round 1.
    Harper, in only his second pro bout, stepped up to face the veteran, Brooks. It was all Harper as he knocked Brooks down, mounted and rained down punches until Referee Forrest stepped in to halt the onslaught.

  9. ISCF PRO MMA
    COLE "WUNDERKIND" MILLER Defeated TIM HONEYCUTT by KO at 0:23 Round 1.
    Miller, primarily known as a grappler, showed precision punching ending the bout with a crisp straight right that put Honeycutt on the canvas to stay.

  10. ISCF PRO MMA
    ANDREW "SPROUT" VARNEY Defeated RASHAD KHALLIQ by TAPOUT - STRIKES at 1:42 Round 2.
    In what initially appeared to be a mismatch in Khalliq's favor, Team Jorge Gurgel fighter Varney took all the punishment Khalliq had to offer (which would have KO'ed many a fighter) and then, in the second round, turned it on against his obviously tired and frustrated opponent.

  11. ISCF PRO MMA
    LUIGI FIORAVANTI Defeated TIM STOUT by UNANIMOUS DECISION in 15:00 minutes, 3 Rounds.
    The fight of the night featured two warriors slugging it out in a 15 minute war. No one left their seat as neither fighter backed down or away. Fioravanti landed more combinations en route to the victory, but neither fighter left unscathed. Amazing battle!

  12. ISCF PRO MMA
    JEFF "LITTLE POPEYE" BEDARD Defeated ROCKY LONG by UNANIMOUS DECISION in 15:00 minutes, 3 Rounds.
    Bedard's lightning fast takedowns, leverage and positioning were too much for Long. Rocky was never able to get off as Bedard would take him down and Ground N' Pound.

  13. ISCF PRO MMA
    ANDY FOSTER Defeated WAYNE MUSIC by TAP OUT - ARMBAR at 1:19 Round 1.
    In a rematch of an earlier victory, Foster proved it was no fluke. Music got the takedown and Foster pulled guard, defending and baiting until Music gave him the arm. Music did take the fight on short notice when Foster's original opponent was injured, but offered no excuses this time around.

  14. ISCF PRO MMA
    RAPHAEL ASSUNCAO Defeated WILLIAM MCGLOTHLIN by TAP OUT - GUILLOTINE at 3:58 Round 2.
    Assuncao controlled from the beginning. At 3:58 of Round 2 McGlothlin tapped to the guillotine, keeping Raphael's unbeaten streak intact.

  15. ISCF PRO MMA
    TREVOR GARRETT Defeated CHARLES MCCARTHY by CHOKE OUT - GUILLOTINE at 0:39 Round 1.
    In a huge upset, McCarthy shot and Garrett secured the guillotine. They went to the ground, but Garrett held on. McCarthy wound up going to sleep.

Once again Shamrock Promotions put on another great night of fights. To a packed house, Jesse Finney made an unbelievable night of fights come to life. The match-making was perfect. In the boxing matches Team Finney went up against some of the best in their weight classes, and all of them coming out victorious. There were four NHB matches on the card. Each fight a little different. The first one had Erich Singer up against Kenny Allen. This match was your wrestler versus your Jui Jitsu fighter. The 2nd one had Dustin Phillips and Alex Carter slugging it out, and they did. There wasn't much defense, and the crowd loved the many punches that were landed. In a highly anticipated fight Tracy Taylor took on 3 Time National Wrestling Champion Titus Taylor. This fight was action packed from the start, and showed Tracy's well developed ground and pound skills. The last night of the four NHB fights had new comer, Chris Barrow, up against the veteran Mike Green. The only kickboxing match was between Josh Fischer and Brad James, both these fighters were coming off a great showing at the IKF North American Championships. Here are all the nights results:
